Gugulethu Sophie Mbatha, also known as Gugu - is a British stage and film actress. Gugu gained notoriety after starring in the BBC's 'Doctor Who', a British science fiction television series. Handler employed as an actor to help support herself. Handler aged 21 years of age was able to concentrate on stand-up comedy as a full-time occupation after discovering her storytelling skills. Handler started her stand-up career on the Oxygen Network's Girls Behaving Badly, a reality show with an in-camera hidden camera and a practical comedy. The reality series was on from 2002 to 2005. The handler appeared in various shows, such as Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was also a a corresponded to The Tonight Show. Handler had her biggest break in 2006, as she took over hosting of E! called The Chelsea Handler Show. The show ran for two seasons. Handler was then seen in the United States as part of the Comedy Central Hour Stand-Up Comedy Tour. VH1, Comedy Central Premium Blend (and HBO) have been able to broadcast live stand-up shows. The show was announced as the host of MTV's 2010 MTV Video Music Awards in the year 2010. This made her the second women in history, behind Roseanne Barr, who hosted the VMAs.
